Shettleston New Heritage Project -

Exhibition and website Launch.

The Heritage Project Group thanks everyone who came along to our event on 19 May 2018.

 

Around one hundred people attended the exhibition in the church and hall. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day. Joining many members of the congregation, our MSP and MP* visited, along with representatives from local churches, members of the Shettleston History Group and many non-church folks. Children had the opportunity to try brass rubbing and join in the Treasure Hunt.

Thanks go to all who participated, with their displays and photographs, and those who provided welcome refreshments in the café. The organ playing by Agnes and the singing by the Shettleston Community Choir added to the enjoyment. It was a great day!

Footnote:  David Linden, MP, did not only come to the event, he posted a picture on Facebook while he was there, telling people where he was. On Tuesday he tabled an ‘early day motion’ in parliament commending the church.
